Ofer Reany The 6th Prato Conference on Pore Forming Proteins 2025

Ofer Reany

Professor Ofer Reany joined the Department of Natural Sciences at The Open University of Israel. Before, he studied at Tel-Aviv University for his BSc., MSc. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry, and then moved to Durham University, UK, for postdoctoral experience under the supervision of Prof. David Parker. Then, he spent six years in industry (R&D) followed by additional 5 years as a Lab Manager and senior researcher at the Faculty of Chemistry in the Technion - Israel Institute of technology. His research interests include supramolecular chemistry, artificial anion transmembrane transporters, molecular sensors and green chemistry. His expertise includes the design of hetero-Bambusurils as synthetic anion transporters or as artificial anion channels, the synthesis of anion receptors by mechanochemistry, and the development of catalytic synthetic approaches that employ renewable feedstocks under mild, energy-efficient conditions with perfect atom economy, eliminating waste and reducing the overall environmental footprint.
